Product Stewardship Institute Announces Spring 2013 Webinar Series
The Product Stewardship Institute (PSI) has recently announced their Spring 2013 Webinar Series. Costs for registering for each webinar range from free (for full PSI members) to $120 (for non-PSI members). The Spring 2013 series includes the following webinars:

Collection and Processing
Join the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) next Tuesday, March 12, 2013, for the fourth, and final, online class of their Recycling Mini Lessons eSeries. In this lesson, students will be provided with a wide range of options for the collection of residential recyclables and will identify the different types of equipment, unit processes, and collection methods to create a safe and efficient material recovery facility (MRF). By the conclusion of this class, students should have an understanding of how materials flow through a MRF and the level processing needed. Funding a Program
Join the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) next Tuesday, March 5, 2013, for the third online class of their Recycling Mini Lessons eSeries. In this lesson, students will learn how to identify program costs and revenues that apply to a recycling program and understand the concept of funding sustainability. Additionally, students will learn the issues related to contracts including rates, collection and processing service agreements, and project procurement. College & University Recycling Coalition Webinar on E-Waste Recycling Program Expansion
The College & University Recycling Coalition (CURC) will be holding a webinar entitled E-Waste Recycling Program Expansion: Best Practices and Recovery Strategies for Batteries, Hand-held Personal Devices, and More on Thursday, February 14, 2013, from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM CST. College and university recycling officials should tune in for an overview of what other campuses are doing across the country followed by a panel discussion focusing on special consideration and opportunities in recovery of materials such as batteries, personal hand-held devices, and more.
