The Mississippi Recycling Coalition (MRC) invites you to join us on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the State Capitol for our Annual Recycling Awareness Day with our State Legislature. The MRC will be sponsoring a breakfast for Legislators and staff in the First Floor Rotunda that morning. We will also use this opportunity to provide information and network with our Legislators on the significant economic impacts that the recycling industry brings to our state. In addition, MRC plans to recognize the “Recyclers of the Year” in the State for 2015 during the event with our annual “Environmental Hero” awards.
We encourage you, our MRC membership, to attend this important event and to contact your local legislators and personally invite them to attend this breakfast and networking session. We also encourage businesses, industries, and organizations that are involved in recycling to consider having an exhibit for the event. However, please note that space is limited in the Rotunda, and we will do our best to honor requests for exhibit space. We will notify exhibitors in advance of the event if there is a reason we cannot honor your request for space.
We ask that everyone planning to attend MRC’s Annual Recycling Awareness Day please contact Jennifer Milner by e-mail to Jennifer_Milner@deq.state.ms.us or by phone to 601-961-5739. Also, contact Ms. Milner if you would like to exhibit at the event or have any questions regarding the event.
The Mississippi Recycling Coalition is asking the State's recycling community to nominate outstanding organizations for its annual Environmental Hero - "Recycler of the Year" Awards for 2015. MRC makes the Environmental Hero awards in 6 categories - Local Government, State and Federal Government, Business and Industry, Non-Profit, Educational Institutions and New Program of the Year. The awards recognize those organizations that have conducted extraordinary efforts to grow and sustain recycling in the State of Mississippi during 2015. A nomination form can be obtained in the left hand column of the website under "Forms & Applications." A hard copy form can be obtained by contacting Mark Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org or 601-961-5304. MRC encourages all interested parties to file nominations. The deadline for nominations is: Friday, January 22nd, 2016.
The Mississippi Recycling Coalition membership follows a calendar year (January 1 - December 31). New members who join on or after October 1 of each year will have their membership terminate on December 31 of the following year. Renewals are always credited for that calendar year only.
There is no return policy for membership dues. However, if you believe your credit card has been charged or you have been invoiced in error, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible and explain the conditions in as much detail as possible. If the Membership Committee agrees that you have been invoiced in error, the committee may authorize a refund. In some situations, a request for refund may need to be brought before the MRC Board of Directors at the Board's next scheduled meeting (typically once a quarter). In those situations, the refund will be issued, once the Board of Directors grants approval.
Conferences, Workshops & Other Events
The Mississippi Recycling Coalition periodically offers educational conferences and workshops throughout each calendar year. Some of these events may carry registration fees. If an event has a registration fee, the page for that event will clearly indicate the fees as will all registration links.
If you register for a conference, workshop, or other event with a registration fee, a refund is possible provided that you notify the Conference Committee 15 days prior to the event. If the registration for an event included membership dues, the portion to cover membership dues are generally non-refundable. A refund will be issued for the registration amount minus a $50.00 processing fee.
