The Recycling Partnership has released the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the 2016 Recycling Cart Grant. This grant provides resources for communities starting curbside recycling programs using large carts or switching from bins to carts. The goal of the Recycling Partnership in offering these grants is to help increase the quantity and quality of recyclables collected by community programs to provide materials for manufacturing and other industry sectors in the U.S. Many of these industries are funding partners in The Recycling Partnership.
Communities interested in applying for The Recycling Partnership Cart Grant should read the 2016 Request for Proposals carefully and may submit their proposal using the proposal application form. If you have any questions please contact Cody Marshall using the information given below.

The Mississippi Recycling Coalition is asking the State's recycling community to nominate outstanding organizations for its annual Environmental Hero - "Recycler of the Year" Awards for 2015. MRC makes the Environmental Hero awards in 6 categories - Local Government, State and Federal Government, Business and Industry, Non-Profit, Educational Institutions and New Program of the Year. The awards recognize those organizations that have conducted extraordinary efforts to grow and sustain recycling in the State of Mississippi during 2015. A nomination form can be obtained in the left hand column of the website under "Forms & Applications." A hard copy form can be obtained by contacting Mark Williams at email@example.com or 601-961-5304. MRC encourages all interested parties to file nominations. The deadline for nominations is: Friday, January 22nd, 2016.
The Mississippi Recycling Coalition (MRC) is accepting grant applications for the 2015-2016 Mississippi School Recycling Grants which are available to any public or private school teaching grades K-12. MRC is offering up to ten $1,000 grant awards to schools to start, expand, or continue school recycling programs. This past year, MRC made three recycling grant awards to Ackerman Elementary School, Winona Elementary School and Southaven High School. MRC invites interested schools to submit applications for this year’s school recycling grants. Interested educators and staff may apply online at the organization’s website at https://www.msrecycles.org/school_grant.html. A hard copy application form is also available upon request. Grant applications should be submitted to MRC by October 15, 2015 in order to receive consideration.

The Mississippi Recycling Coalition has announced the dates and location for the 2015 State Recycling Conference. The meeting is set for October 27—28, 2015 at the BancorpSouth Conference Center in Tupelo, MS!
